situation of the apartment on the beachfront in Puerto Pollensa imposed immediate
limitations on the worktime available as noise restrictions are in place from the end of
May to the beginning of October and the work was to be extensive and architect-driven.
On completion of the purchase, we submitted the application for building permission to
Pollensa council and started work.
After gutting the property, including removing 26 tonnes of flooring, the reconstruction
work began. First primary phase electrical, plumbing and drainage work, ducted
air-conditioning and submission of documents for electrical upgrade to Gesa (Electricity
Supplier), installation of false ceilings throughout, replacememt of all windows, doors
and shutters with aluminium double glazing.
The opening and reinforcement of several doorways within the property, design of new
kitchen layout, floor tiling throughout, fitting new bathroom, fitting new interior
woodwork and the construction of a new, en-suite shower room in part of the interior
The heaviest work was undertaken and completed by the end of March and the renovation
completed by June, when the owners moved in.
