The upper floors of this traditional Mallorquin house had been converted to living accommodation long ago and the new owner wanted to give it a complete make-over. As it was structurally sound, it was just a case of upgrading the electrical supply and redesigning the interior to the new owner’s taste.

First of all, the electrical supply had to be upgraded, the whole apartment re-wired and low consumption electric heaters fitted. Next, we tackled the existing kitchen which was tired and rather closed off from the apartment.

In order to incorporate it more into the rest of the living accommodation, we opened up a wall and extended the new range of hand crafted wooden kitchen units with natural stone work surfaces to create a breakfast bar area between the sitting room and kitchen.

With this done, we tiled the floor of the apartment throughout and that of both the terraces.

We then stripped, re-tiled and fitted 3 bathrooms with new sanitary ware including Resigres slim shower trays, Tres taps and showers, Gala/Cielo sanitary ware and bespoke wooden vanity units with natural stone on top.

All the interior doors were made to our client's design by Guillem, our carpenter in Pollença, and he also made 2 new teak doors and 2 sets of teak windows, all double glazed, for the study.

The rickety wooden shutters were replaced with aluminium ones, quite a feat at that height!

Last, but not least, we had all the fitted wardobes re-sprayed in light grey and re-painted the apartment white throughout. A really beautiful makeover!
